Can someone help me understand this? I recently disputed this account and they verified. Then I sent in a TX Finance Code validation letter on the 13th of this month. I received this letter today. This letter reads like the debt was sold to a new company, however, Cavalry has always owned this debt and they are even who has been on my credit file for the last almost 5 years. i don’t understand how it was sold from cavalry to cavalry. Makes no sense. It seems like they “sold” it right after I disputed it and before the TFC validation letter was received. Any suggestions? Do I now need to resend my TFC letter to this address listed on the letter? I confirmed and there is no change to the account number on this letter and the account number that appears on my credit file. 227818D2-3457-40CD-905E-0EE84D787F7A.jpeg
Sounds like it was "sold" to another arm of the company. Would be like Citi calling you for a DSNB account. Different entity, owned by the same company. Probably because you reached Statute of Limitations.
Also, they don't need to validate anything. As long as they attempted to notify you when they took over the account, they're good.
I also wouldn't bother disputing again. They're going to verify and you'll only hurt your credit more by having a recent derogatory show up. And by recent, I mean it recently updated which is basically as bad as having a new one.
