i had a collections account that was on EQ and TU.
I dv'd the CA and waited until they got the letters via CMMRR.
After the CA's got the CMMRR a week later, i sent dispute letters to TU and EQ.
Around that same time period the CRAs recvd the CMMRR, the negative infomation was removed right away from TU and EQ.
I got two letters in the mail this past week
Letter i got back from the CRAs
TU Letter:
PAGE 1: Based on the info provided to transunion, our records show that the information you disputed does not currently appear on your transunion credit report.
THEN,
PAGE 2: Says "One or more of the documlents provided qas not a qualifying document. please refer to the list..."
EQ Letter:
PAGE1: "we have reviewed your concerns and our conclusions are:
the disputed account xxxx is currently not reporting on the equifax credit file"
My question is, did the CRAs remove these pending investigation or did the CA remove it?
Why do they say xxxx is currently not reporting on your credit file? did the CA remove it before the CRAs got my letter, i mean TU said one doc was invalid?
Im hoping the CA removed the neg items

Appears they were removed by the CA prior to the dispute being received at the CRA.
TU deleted the same day it recieved the letter, which was very fast. so leads me to believe that the CA removed removed the negs.
follow up question.
I disputed the amount owed, but i sent a standard DV letter to the CA. I didnt specify accuracy of debt. I just simply DV'd it using a template.
turns out from my phone calls to the OC, that i actually owe them a partial of the debt. The OC corrected the debt and I would like to pay my debts to the OC. Is there a risk in paying the OC now?
As the OC may pay the CA and the CA can re-report this info to the CRAs?
Or should i wait for the debt to be resold to another CA and settle that amount?

Ok in this scenario, I would call the OC, request the CA be recalled and once they agree then pay the OC. If the OC is accepting payment they own the debt and it hasnt been sold to any CA or JDB.
I called and confirmed with EQ and TU that there is nothing on my file and that the CA had indeed removed it before they could investigate.
See that's the confusing part i keep hearing, if the OC still accepts payment, they still own the debt...etc..
I've heard a few things about this.
one is the one you state, the other is that the OC can pay the CA to facilitate the debt payment.
My OC said they will pay the CA even if i pay them.
They also refused to remove to recall the debt, they said it has been sold.
Can this collection ever come back on my credit? I'm afraid now that they have corrected the debt on their end...it's valid now. i have no grounds.
I would like to settle it, but dont know how to approach this...

It would be illegal for the OC to accept payment for a debt that they have sold even if they intend to turn it over to the debt buyer. Sure it can come back it was never investigated and deleted by the CRAs.
thanks! so im in a bit of a pickle even with good news.
If i pay the OC directly, they can inform the CA. the say can update as paid in full and that would suffice for CRAs i think.
should i just wait this out and hope another CA comes along and then pay it before they report me?
WHats the best way to go about it. the OC (ConED) are being stubborn to remove the CA even if im willing to pay.
The CRA is saying that the dispute was dismissed based on the disputed info no longer being of record, and thus no reinvestigation was conducted.
Not knowing specifically what inaccuracy was asserted in your dispute, it is not possible to determine what the holding of lacking documentation was referencing, but that is also a statement that they dismissed the dspute due to lack of showing of an inaccuracy that could be investigated.
Since the CRA neither verified, corrected, or stated that the accuracy could not be verified, it was a dismissed dispute, and not a deletio by them..
