Hi I'm new here and I just finished paying off all of my debt last week. I have some negative accounts on my credit reports all paid off that I want removed, my oldest is 6.6 years. Can I have them removed since they are all paid off? I don't feel that they need to be lingering on my report since they all have their money. I've called lexington law but don't want to pay for what I can do myself. Any advice would be appreciated. If there is a topic about this already please provide the link. Thanks in advance.
First mistake, was paying them to begin with...now you have no leverage...
Hello, and welcome to the forums.
First off let me congratulate you on paying off all your debts. First off, as mentioned above, there were some ways of getting some things off by doing PFDs. But putting that behind us, you will need to educate yourself in the use of GW letters.
Below you will find a link to what I'm talking about. Read up on them, form your gameplan. Ask questions here. That's why we're here, to help you. Good Luck!
@XxRaVeNxX I was thinking about that but I didn't know as I was just doing that over the last few years as I owed them plus I was a foreign student not versed in the credit laws. I thought that paying them off would be good enough. Oh well I'll still try and see what I can do. Thanks for responding.
Thanks @shogun.
