Hello,
Once upon time I had perfect score A+++ (prior to numerical score), then my son was born 12 weeks early . Now 12 years and 21 surgery later i had terrible score but he is doing better and I want to try to rebuild my credit. However, I cant even understand what means collector that have name numerical and letters and dont show up original lender or hen was first offense occured or anything else. How am I supposed to contact anyone if there is NO name phone or anything Ican start with?
ANy help is appreciated greatly.
In order to find out who the collectors are you need to pull the reports directly from the CRA. go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get your 3 reports for free if you havent yet. The reports from the source will have a contact list or collections list with all the information that the 3rd party sites dont show (often medical collections).
Thank you so much :-) I am sure I will have more questions once I have at least knowledge who I owe what and why:-)
You have come to the right place,
After you get your CR's, come back and list your negative items(or want we call here--baddies), and what state you live in.
Oh and dont forget, do not include personal info, name address or account #'s.
There is alot of reading to do, to start with browse around the stickys at the top of the board.
I know at first, it maybe alot to take in,but stick around and we'll help you.And if you cant understand my southern accent, we'll find someone here that you can relate to.
Talk with you again soon,bye![]()

Ok, got all three reports (unbeliveable eh):-)anyway they are huge and largest one is Equifax (42 pages
). 95% of those are medical bills.
Anyway, first few questions:
There are items that says they wil be removed in 10.2010 and/or 11.2010 and they are still there. How come? Also, what it means if they are removed? Can they be placed back if bill is unapid? Is it good idea to start paying smallest bills and work way up or start paying those that will "expire" latest?
If I juyst knew where to start![]()
Well the problem is that the ones that just fall off will come back to be a problem if you ever apply for a new home or loan over $150k. They can go back beyond 7 years, regardless if they are showing on your current report.
But, a collection is the same as any amount. So eliminating as many as possible is the best route to take. The fresher they are, the more they are hurting your score. So start with the newer/smaller collections and work your way around. You may want to opt out as well to stay on the "down low". Another thing to consider is what collections are within the Statute of Limitations. Those are the ones that can suddenly sue you and then put you in another troubled situation. Those need to be paid or settled first to avoid that. Settling a collection will not help your score. Only removing one.
Hope that helps a little!

Although legally creditors do have this right I have yet to see a post where someone was denied credit because a lender went this route. I'm not saying it can't happen or won't happen but I really don't think there is much chance of it happening.
In other words once a derogatory is gone it's gone although it's always available to creditiors under those limited circumstances.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Ok, I was thinking to tackle first newer accounts /smaller amounts and go from there and then whatever comes my way. My Gola is 3 years to get down to 25% of current debt which is over 75 K now, and NO, I dont want bancorupcy::-)
You will all hear from me I will accept challenge as well![]()
