I paid a medical collection bill a few months ago. The company was very nice and agreed to delete it from my credit file. I know they did it because it immediately came off of TU and EX, however it is still showing on EQ. I called the CA back and she said the request to delete was submitted to all 3 bureaus at the same time so it is out of their hands.
Would it do any good to call EQ to explain the situation? Surely it doesn't take 2 months to delete the account, the other 2 came off immediately. We are getting ready to apply for a loan and really need this to come off. I don't want to dispute since it is valid, the CA just agreed to delete it.
If you call the CRA, I would limit your inquiry as to ensuring that they have received the reported deletion.
I would not go into the reason for the deletion, or file a dispute, as deletion based on payment is against their policy.
Keep it administrative.
