Not sure where to begin with collections and other derogs

Have you tried to contact the head of the CU to explain the situation? Do you have documentation to support what happened?

Have you tried to contact the hospital and electric company directly to see if they will remove the collections since they are paid?

Try goodwill letters on what has been paid and see if the creditors you still owe will agree to pay for delete. If they won't then send goodwill letters after they have been paid. My experience with Sallie Mae has not been successful, but it's worth a shot.

Others may have thoughts on how to approach these, but just my opinion.

Thank you!  I was wondering if its better to deal with the collection agencies or the original creditors...

I do have the option to rehab my student loan.  I'm trying to figure out if that deletes late payments or not.

Sometimes it will turn the tradeline positive. I am of the understanding that it depends on the loan or the lender, can't remember which. I would definitely verify that. Sallie Mae did not remove the derogs for me after I rehabbed my loan. I am still fighting them for that, even though it will fall of later this year.
