OC not reporting.

I have a directv collection account. In the past a collection agency had the account and had placed it on my credit. It has come off. I talked with a customer service agent at directv to determine if an external collection agency has my account. They said that it is in their internal collections department and no longer with a collection agency. Directv is not reporting it. Would I be okay to pay it off fully with them and assume they still won't put it on my credit?

If they haven't reported it, I'd say you're fine to go ahead and pay. Better to do it now before they do put it on your report.

Although, I had a collection agency add my old debt to my report 4 months after I paid it lol. It's been in collections since 2012 and they just now want to put it on my report AFTER I pay?? I was furious! I just called them and politely told them it was paid, sent my PIF letter, and a few weeks later, they deleted it from all 3 CRA's.

I doubt this will happen to you, but if it does, they can just delete it.
