Old payday loan

I'm afraid they are about to sue , I don't have any info only phone calls. I asked for collection to be sent via mail and was instructed that next action is thru my local court. That was two weeks ago and haven't heard from them since. They never identified but I know I have an unpaid PD loan from 2009 that has never made it to report . Help and advice please

Re: Old payday loan

scam. Ive had 4 BS calls and asked them to mail proof of the said loan they are trying to collect or sue. Nothing ever showed up in the mail or court summons. Nothing on my credit report either. One call came from a fax machine in a county clerk office. I called the real number and they weren't happy. Guy told me to call another number. He was busted.

Hi Sbrooks.

What is the statute of limitations in your state?  Not too long ago, there was a scammer out of Florida sending out fake notices that they would cease collection activity and sue.  Wish I still had the information that I looked up on the internet for this company, but I don't.  If it is out the SOL, then they can't sue you.  Just make sure that it is legitimate.  I did a PD loan back when my credit was bad, but settled all of that, and kept my documentation, so I know that anything that comes my way is more than likely a scam.  Keep us posted.

Re: Old payday loan

If you know their identity, then at least send them a DV, which will impose a cease collection bar.

Re: Old payday loan

I have no idea, they called with thick accent work and cell. I have an unpaid loan from an online server since gone bust. The loan was 500 and now all I can imagine is a thousands of dollars judgement . The last they said was court is next and haven't contacted me since. If it is the old PD loan what should my move be to prevent this escalating

Glad I live in Texas; only 4 years.  Have you Googled to see if this is a legitimate collection agency?

Re: Old payday loan

I googled every scammers number. Led to nowhere when they called. I recorded their voicemails. Lawsuit, arrest at work, you name it to scare you to pay. I told each of them I filed Chap7 last year and one said this isnt a female name. Do I sound like a female? Idiots. Nice try.

Re: Old payday loan

Contact Secretary of State. My classmate dealt with this last year. The SOS only allowed what was borrowed. But I strongly suggest this. I believe Louisiana is one of the states PD loans are illegal but check. I know Georgia is My classmate is in Louisiana
