Got the OpenSky visa in 2020. Paid the $35 AF. Got it waived in 2021 when I went to close it, and just got it waived again in 2022! I have more No AF cards to help build my credit so I didn't the OpenSky, but I didn't want to pay the AF. Called in to close, they first offered me $20 credit, then I said mmm... can you guys do the whole $35, and they said yes! I said screw it I'll keep it another year. I don't need the deposit I put up which was $200. The payment history is worth more to me. I'll check again in another year and if they don't waive it then I'll close it.
