I had an amazon store card from synchrony which was closed with a balance and ended up in a collection, long story short that account was recently deleted from my credit report but the collection is still on there, is it possible to get rid of the collection since the original creditor has removed the account completely from my file?
"SYNCB/AMAZON PLCC Account Removed From Report Closed accounts are usually removed from your report after seven years. Once they're removed, the account details will no longer affect your credit score. Between November 10, 2019 and December 16, 2019, your credit card with SYNCB/AMAZON PLCC was removed from your credit report."

Hi Purvish, welcome to the forums!
They won't remove the collection just because the original creditor removed their tradeline. The debt is still owed and so long as the collection agency has either been granted collection authority by the creditor, or purchased the debt from the creditor, they can report.
Good thing is Portfolio has a stated policy to delete their collection tradeline after payment (either in full or settled) so long as the original debt is at least 2 years old. So... consider contacting them.
Everything @thornback said is good, I just wanted to chime in, the debt does NOT have to be 2 years old in order for PRA to delete it (that's Midland Credit Management that has the 2 year policy). So long as it's PIF or settled, PRA will delete, regardless of age.

Thanks for the correction!! I always mix those two up
