PFD Small Collection Agency?

I have a small collection account on my credit for $95. I've done some research on the collection agency and have found it is a small and local company called Network Collection Services. I have been unable to find anyone online with successful or unsuccessful stories on their willingness to pay for delete. I assume that is because they are such a small company. I have however been able to find three reviews for this company and they all say that they are a very verbially abusive company. I want to offer a PFD but I'm afraid to deal with shady collection companies. I guess I'm afraid to "poke the bear". What do you think my chances are of getting this off? Small collection agency, due to fall of my credit in 4/2015, SOL is expiring as I type this (reported 5/2009). I just don't want to make a mistake and renew it or update it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Send a PFD but not CMRRR.  It is a type of GW and a CMRRR makes it looks demanding and forced.

Re: PFD Small Collection Agency?

that's what I was thinking. Sort of a GW letter not CMRR. I was actually thinking of emailing it to them. I'm thinking the faster the transaction the more likely they are to do it. But in my GW letter should I still state the standard "Please be aware this is not an admission or acknowledgement of liability for this debt nor is it a promise of payment or payment agreement but merely a way of having this negative item removed from my credit files"??

My husband and I are weeks aways from applying for a mortgage and I am terrified of doing anything to jepordize that.

Re: PFD Small Collection Agency?

Yes, that statement is fine.  And I would bold it as you did and make the first sentence.   If it is a PFD it is a promise to pay for a deletion.  I would reword that to something like in the spirit of compromise I will pay______for deletion from all 3 CRAs.
