Re: PFD?

I would recommend trying a Hipaa letter. You can find out more info by doing a web search for the letter.

I know several people here have referenced it and I just started the process myself.

Re: PFD?

Latest update...

Got home from work last night and in my mailbox I found something from the CA. Basically a bill from the OC showing balance due, etc. Also showing "w/o to collections".....this mean it was sold by chance? Or can I still contact the OC?

And....logged into True Credit. Updated TransUnion report. The collection on there for this, is no longer showing "Balance $0". Its showing "Balance $288" AND the "Date Reported" has been changed/rolled-back to 3/2007 (which is odd because that's when the original services for the medical bill were rendered)

Re: PFD?

And...the latest update. No response to a second DV to the CA. And no response to my PFD either.

Checked my TU credit report again, and balance is once again showing $0.

Also, the letter I got from the CA (original response to first DV) said make check payable to the OC (not sure that means anything, just thought I would mention it)

So- Im not entirely certain what the next step should be. Any ideas?

Re: PFD?

And today's update...

Talked to the insurance company last night (finally). They said if the OC will refile the claim they will pay it/accept it. I immediately called the OC and informed them of this. Going to follow up with them in a few days...

So- after that, Im hoping it doesnt take too much time/trouble to get it off my CR.

Re: PFD?

And the latest update Smiley Happy.... OC refiled with insurance. Insurance should pay the bill.

Now- how do I get the CA to remove this from my report (since once insurance pays its technically not in collections anymore)

Re: PFD?

And final update. Claim was paid by insurance (even though the OC filed over a year late). OC sent me a receipt showing $0 balance and paid by insurance. They are contacting the CA to have this removed.
