Hello,
Im new to the forum and hoprfully this is the correct locaiton to present my question. I have a collection account (utility) with a "Paid, Closed" status. I was able to locate the original letter fro the CA, and it shows that I had unti 9/11/2024 to dispute all or parts of the debt. My documents show that the account was paid in full on 9/9/2024. Do I have any options to dispute that account being that the balance was paid prior to the 30 day validation window? Any information that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

There's really nothing to dispute as it should be reported correctly. Being it's settled did you ask them (the CA) if they'd be willing to grant a goodwill deletion?
Hello,
No I haven't. Being that the debt was paid prior to the date noted on the letter, I assumed that the account would be considered satisifed and no collection activaties waaranted.
If I understand you correctly, the account wasn't settled. It was paid prior to the 9/11 date listed on the collection letter. So my question is, if the account is paid prior to dispute date listed on the letter from the CA, should the debt still be marked with a "Collection Account: status on my report. I was under the impression that I had up until 9/11 to dispute the debt or pay the debt before it would be report to the CR agencies.
CA stay on CR's for 7 years from the DOFD.
Since you already paid it, I would suggest reaching out to the CA, kindly ask them to remove it.
