Ok heres the scoop,
trying to fix DH's credit... OC is Verizon balance 141.00 from 2004 at the latest....
Palisades Collections is the CA & the account is past SOL for phones in CA., so I send them a DV CMRRR on
12-03-08, I recieved my green card back on 12--12-08 with a stamped name in the signature section. So they recieved my DV letter however according to TC the account was updated as still in collection on 12-15-08 to Experian.
Now I am still relatively new to this so please correct me if Im wrong but after they received the DV letter arent they suppposed to cease to collection activity?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I would like to file a complaint with the appropriate agencies if they are in fact in violation. We would like to to do a PFD since it is only 141.00 but if they arent going to play fair then Im not either. Please advise on the next steps to take
Thanks in advance !!
If they were already reporting when you send the DV, they can continue to report for the first 30 days.
After that, they have to cease reporting if they haven't sent validation.
Did they mark the account in dispute?
is the account information reported 100% accurately?
for example, the name of the OC should be AT&T, the account should be closed, the account type 30dd, etc., etc.- are all the line items correct?
if the account is not reported in dispute, it could be fun to report the violation, but it's even better to wait for the 30th day after they received the DV - if they still report and haven't validated, then you can report them for more than one violation. the damage to them is harder than $141
good luck!!
