Hello all, just wondering if submitting pay for delete letters to the CA's is still a viable strategy. I read somewhere that the credit bureaus frown upon them and have really been cracking down as of late. Perusing the topic here on the forum the most recent post I came across is from '07.

PFD letters are still an integral part of cleaning up your credit. The first line of defense against a CA is the DV, a PFD is a last resort item. You would first want to ascertain if the TL(s) are inside or outside of SOL as this will determine how you approach each one. Welcome to the board ![]()
Can anyone explain what any of these acronyms mean? Minus PFD (pay for delete) and perhaps what they mean. Like what is a pay for dete in the first place?
