So I was 30 days late paying my PayPal credit account. When I logged in to pay it, there was a message saying the account was closed and I was eligible for a repayment plan. In 7 years this was the first time I was EVER late!!! And I was only late because I absolutely forgot!! I never check emails, my phone is always on do not disturb so I don't get phone calls. I honestly forgot to pay it. The only way I figured out it was 30 days late is because I logged into my bank account and checked when I paid it last. I have not called them because I honestly like the idea of the 0% until it's paid off. My credit is absolutely garbage anyway so who cares. Ugh. Just thought I'd warn others to be careful with being late.
You can always request them by GW to remove the 30 day late. That way you'll have one less 30 day late.
Sorry that happened. That's why those text/email reminders for payment due are helpful, along with autopay for at least the minimum.

Above in blue likely had a lot to do with account closure. Normally, they would send an email reminder or something if < 60 days late. Going to be hard to get lenders to cut you slack until you fix that.

My suggestion is to setup AutoPay Minimum amount on all your accounts asap
you should still check in on your accounts regularly to avoid issues
also, with PayPal Credit being a 6 month no interest term, i always setup my payments for the next 5 months in one shot, so that i ensured it was paid off before the term ended (at which point they backdate all the interest to Day 1)
i get that emails/spam can get overwhelming - at some point, you should sit down and Unsubscribe to a lot of them, if it is the email 'noise' that causes you not to check emails
i am sorry you got the Late, but without checking your emails/phone calls/account check in - it really was bound to happen
Any remaining credit accounts you have. Go to alerts and click on texts. Theres no way people dont get texts messages these days. You may not care now about your credit. But it will come back to haunt you later. Better get a jump on it now. Its actually sad you feel that way.
Does this have anything to do with PayPal closing accounts because of the rewards thing that was going on. I thought I skimmed past an article that said PayPal closed a million+ accounts because they found out that people were taking advantage of the rewards system. Could be completely irrelevant but seems crazy that they would close a seven year account over a late payment.

No, not crazy at all. Also, this particular AA instance would have nothing to do with the other reported or alleged rewards instances.
It's clearly spelled out in any cardmember agreement what a lender can do in the event that an account becomes delinquent, payments are returned (NSF), etc., and account closure is one of those conditions. Some lenders are more lenient than others about a late payment (depending on the severity), but SYNCB isn't one of them.
PayPal actually never reported my account to the credit bureaus and i think i still owe them like 5k. Never seen anything on it and I've heard around these forums they don't report. Unless they do know? Could be corrected.
