After reading about how penn credit does nothing to help or pfd, I was kinda discouraged. It was the only collection I had remaining on my credit report after paying cavalry and Caine wiener and being told both would delete. I called Ohio Edison and explained my situation to the lady who told me she totally gets it and offered to recall the debt from penn if I was willing to make a payment toward the debt. She used the word recall before I even asked so I'm inclined to believe she knows the difference between that and just updating to paid. Said it could take 2-3 weeks before it's processed through systems and removed from my credit. Wonder what kind of score increase I'll see going from 3 collections for $7,000 to none.
