Portfolio Recovery Associates

I have always heard and seen that Portfolio Recovery Associates are very hard to do a PFD.  I was looking at thier website today.  They are now saying that they have a new policy.  It is posted below.

Yes. Your account will be considered paid-in-full or paid-in-full for less than the full balance after your final payment is successfully posted. Within approximately 30 days of your final payment successfully posting, we will request the credit reporting agencies delete the PRA tradeline related to your account from your credit bureau report.

I was wondering if I should still send a PFD letter and get that in writing.

Re: Portfolio Recovery Associates

No, need to do a PFD. There are many threads dating back to October 2018 that PRA is holding up their end. They will delete from all three CRA now even with a settlement.

Re: Portfolio Recovery Associates

I'm still waiting for them to delete the tradeline from Equifax but it is gone from TU and Experian. On Dec. 22 it was 30 days but Equifax has always been slow to update.

Re: Portfolio Recovery Associates

Thank you for responses. Equifax seems to really lag behind for some reason. Even my equifax fico score is 45 points lowe than my transunion and experian fico score
