I recently was discharged (thankfully). I have seen a lot of people here and on Reddit say that Mission Lane is very BK friendly. I tried applying their credit card and was denied due to an "identification issue". I called and they said they could not do anything about it and I would have to reapply after some time. I logged into Credit Karma (I know, I know) and saw I was "guaranteed" the Mission Lane Cash Back Visa. I hit apply because why not and was instantly approved for 2k. My first card post BK and it was the cash back one instead of the plain visa! Obviously ymmv with this stuff but just figured I'd post this in case it helps anyone or anyone finds it interesting.
Congratulations!

Absolutely nothing wrong with checking CK for credit card offers fresh out of discharge. You just have to make sure that you are applying for the more decent cards, because they definitely have some real stinkers on there.
My first 3 cards after my discharge came from CK and Experian. I was able to get Mission Lane and Ollo (now Ally) from CK (both were invite only cards so going thru CK was a way to get the invite) and I got my Mercury card from a link in the Experian app. The Mission Lane card I have sinced closed because it had an AF and I got zero growth from it (started at a $1K limit and I only got one CLI of $100 in almost 2 years of having the card). But I still have my Ally and my Mercury cards and use them occasionally to keep them open.
If you stay away from the crap cards on CK, you can get some invitations to apply for some decent starter rebuilding cards. So congrats on you ML card!

Thank you for the tips! Definitely gonna keep an eye on CK for the Ally card. ML have me a 2k limit with no annual fee so I'll probably keep this one long term. I didn't burn Navy Federal in my BK so hopefully in the future I can grab the More Rewards card from them.
