GGGRRR! I got one of those Pre approval notices from CITI preferred thank you card, usually anytime I get those they go straight to the garbage, not this one though... Honestly I don't know what possessed me to apply for it. Either way I did and they declined me..... Lesson learned.... Stupidly, I didn't try to get a feel of credit score requirement to be approved... When I did look it up after the facttithe required score is higher the n mine. I'm sorry credit score.....

Sorry about your denial. Unfortunately, the pre-approvals aren't a guarantee. And yes, it's good to research and see what scores and credit profiles are like for people getting approved.
I'd just use it as an opportunity to get a free CR and make sure everything looks accurate. The denial letter will also give you some working points, so you know what needs improvement.
