Problems with an old credit card

In 2006 i had a credit card 1st delinquency Aug 2006 with the 30 , 60, 90, following with the charge off in 12/06.   Fast foreward to 2010,  i dispute the debt on the cras based upon wrong amount reported.   They change the amount,  AND the dates for the lates to the date starting with the first major reported delinquency which was 12/06 putting all the negatives into 2007, and the charge off 2 months prior to my complaints.  I called them and complains they removed the wrongly placed charge off, but didnt budge on the lates.   In 2011,  same thing happend, with same results.  In 2013 i complained to the cras again, and what do you know, the credit card company put the charge off in January 2013.   These people are annoying the heck out of me,  anybody have any advice?   I sent them a dv letter, way outside the 30 days period I know, they were kind enough to reply anyway.   With the front of the contracts, not the backs,  the formula to calculate debt, payments and totals, are all on the back.  ACK

Re: Problems with an old credit card

Who is reporting the CA or the OC?  If it is the OC send them this direct dipsute per FCRA 623a)(8):

“This is a Notice of Direct Dispute with you, under the provisions of FCRA §623(a)(8)(D), of the accuracy of information you have reported to my credit file.

“In compliance with FCRA §623(a)(8)(D), and enacting regulations published at  16 CFR § 660.4, this Notice of Direct dispute includes:

“Identification of the specific information being disputed:
(specify the account number, and the specific information that is disputed under

             that identifying account)

“Basis for the dispute:

(how the reporting was inaccurate;    was any reporting in violation of any statutory or

regulatory provisions?  account or express agreements?  CRA reporting gudelines? Account not

              yours? etc.)

“Supporting documentation:

(all documents that support your dispute; it is recommened to also include,

as part of your documentation, at least a copy of the portion only of your

recent credit report showing their reporting of the disputed information was

actually reported to your credit flle.  The implementing rule suggests a  showing

that it appeared in your credit report)

Make sure you include copies of any CRs and/or statements that show when you did first become delinquent.  They have to respond to you within 30 days.  I will caution you that since you disputed with the CRAs the OC can say it is frivilous.  However, with enough backup they may not and just fix it.

In this case the OC is the CA.  They kept it in house the entire time.

Send it to the OC and provide proof of DoFDs.
