I have an JCPenney credit card account that was charged off in 2003 and turned over to a collection agency. The account was deleted by the collection agency, but not JCPenney. I know they are not required to delete the tradeline just because the CA did so. It should fall off around the fall of this year, but I need it off now! I GW'd one of the higher ups by fax, and some guy called me back stating that there was nothing that he could do to help me. Should I just keep trying with different "Big Wigs" to get it deleted, or just wait until it falls off? I have rebuild my credit and opened up another JCP card as well as other accounts that are in good standing. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Goodwills work best on paid accounts. Assuming that you paid JCP then you can gw them and have a better shot.
If this account is not paid, I'm not sure I'd be sending a GW letter.
