Question about credit report/tax lien reporting

I had a lien placed on my credit report for unpaid state income taxes.  The lien was placed on there in 2004 and I paid it off in 2007.  I know it will stay there until 2014.  My question is this - on my Experian report they have it listed twice - once as state tax lien filed and once as state tax lien paid, released.  Under negative accounts I have 2 there and it is these two.  I have no others.  Should it only be on there one time or are they listing it correctly?  Anyone else have this on their credit report?  My other two reports only have it listed once as a paid tax lien.  Thanks!

Re: Question about credit report/tax lien reporting

EX is famous for this. A friend had 3 or 4 tax liens, all reported twice. Once as unpaid, once as paid.

Dispute them stating they are duplicated and appearing twice. The tax lien is satisfied and there is only one that should be reported.

Re: Question about credit report/tax lien reporting

Mine is not reported twice.  I would take action to have the lien removed either in writing or initiate it on line.
