This was paid. Can they continue to report the current status as 120+past due?

Re: Quick question.....

I have not sent a letter yet.  DH was in the office yesterday on an unrelated matter and asked to speak with supervisor about it. She was less than helpful. She says it will continue to report that way because it WAS 120+ days late.  It has been paid already and a PFD won't work. Guess my question is do I have any leverage in the letter I write since it has been paid and is not "currently" 120+ late, it WAS 120+ late. Should I do a GW?

Re: Quick question.....

Oh! No I did not ask for a PFD when we paid it, I wasn't on these boards then and wasn't knowledgeable about such a tactic!

No, it should not be reporting as currently 120 days past due.   Current status should be paid and closed.  Worst delinquency should show the 120 days past due.

Re: Quick question.....

+2 didn't catch that guiness.  I wonder if a GW would be sufficient.

Re: Quick question.....

GW for what?  Removal of the account?

I would be careful how it is worded.  If you want the TL deleted I wouldn't mention the incorrect reporting right now.  That could prompt them to just update it correctly.

If they deny a GW deletion, then I would let them know they are reporting incorrectly and either fix it or delete it.

That's just my opinion.

Re: Quick question.....

I like that idea.  Don't include anything about incorrect reporting, just a simple GW letter.  That way there wouldn't be any reason to throw it into dispute.

Re: Quick question.....

Thank you guiness...makes sense.  I will look at some sample GW's and send one off. I have seen many with PFD success, so perhaps I will have luck with GW. I will post the outcome.
