My lender told me they were doing a rapid rescore. I settled the account in full and have the agreement and a receipt.
So, they told me yesterday after A WEEK of waiting..... that the credit bureaus contacted Capital One and Capital One would not confirm if the account was in fact settled.
Now, I did specifically tell Capital One they were authorized by me to release the information to the CRA's (even tho I do not get why that is needed since they are already reporting to them but I did as I was instructed).
Has anyone else that had the rapid rescore done have to give permission to the creditor to relase to the CRAs and did anyone have issues with Capital One refusing to confirm.
Not sure if someone is being dishonest with me or if Capital One is maybe just being difficult.
Anyone have any experience...
****Please dont respond if you have not had experience.... Dont mean to be rude but I dont have time for peoples opinions... I just want to see if anyone has had this happen....
If my lender is not being honest I may need to look elsewhere.....
I'm experiencing the same thing right now. I settled on an account, in person with a cashier's check, on 8/8. Capital One refused to give me any documentation until 9/8. On 9/8 my CRs were updated to reflect a payment, but the difference between the original amount due and the settled amount I paid are now reporting as Past Due on my account. Nobody at Capital One will even discuss with me, other than to say they are reporting accurately. So frustrating.
