Re-aging

8 moth ago my credit score was 740 today it’s 610 cause I realized that my credit file was resold and it’s showing 90 day past due I think that bad credit is over 7 years but don’t really know cause it show up under a different company
I have a bank credit card never late and Fingerhut never late my balance is 0 on Fingerhut and about 500 on credit card as of today I usually pay them off monthly to help build my credit but it’s going down
Question
1 how do I go about finding out the original creditor
2 how can I have it update to show the actual time (years) of delinquent

Re: Re-aging

Seems like a good place to start would be to get a copy of your credit reports from annualcreditreport.com so you can get more information.

Desired BK recovery line up complete 7/12/2021. Planning to garden until 8/2023 and potentially try for AMEX.

Re: Re-aging

What account was resold. Your file as a whole isnt sold. Is it a collections that was updated after being sold to another collection agency? Welcome to the forums.

Well it would have 0 effect as all requests for your own file do not count against you. However if you got your reports 6 months ago you will not be able to again so soon as its only 1 per year for free.

Re: Re-aging

You can go to each credit bureau and request a copy of your file and after paying the fee it will be displayed to you or you could sign up for a credit monitoring service and get access that way. Can also send in a request to each CRA with a check for the fee asking that the reports be sent to you by mail. I personally like mail reports if you need to see everything that is there.
