I have an old account with them from 2011 and the balance includes a early temination fee of $400.00. I lived in a condo complex that was HOA. At the time of move in they totally allowed you to have this type of cable service. Few months down the road. The home owners decided to not allow this so i had to disconnect services. I wrote them a letter explaining what happed. They asked for a letter but like i told them we haven't lived there since 2011 and don't have that info anymore. They refused to hornor my request.
They said you can settle with the collection agency and see if that works out....Its held by NCO (ugh)
Anyways, just venting...I have the property oweners number and i am tempted to ask him to provide me with a letter saying that they didn't allow DirecTV anymore.
Jerks.
Unrelated, but with the Telecommunications Act of 1996, an HOA is prohibited from enforcing laws that prohibited this...

I wonder if you could use this to your case?

I was just a tenant then and wasn't the home owner.
