Since this last reporting I've PIF the Avant, Capital One, and one of the Credit One cards. I paid the other down to <$100.
I've also aquired a NFCU ($3,500), DiscoverIT ($2,000), and AU on my husband's NFCU ($7,100) and Cap1 ($500).
1 Personal Loan
$3105 left on a $5,000
2 Auto Loans
Almost 2 year old lates on both, called and have been GWing for months with no success
1 Chargeoff ~ $5k in July 2018, hasn't reported since December 2019. Made the mistake of not calling the OC (Mariner Finance) and trying to recall for payment BEFORE paying the CA $3,000 to remove which they did. I didn't know any better then.
Really nothing more to do for now. You dont mentioned when the cards were obtained and in what time frame. The lates if 30 days will be a lot less of a ding after 2 yrs. The CO will be gone in 2025 and theres a ton of points waiting. Time is your friend for now. Need a bit more info. Anything else in the background holding you back. What are your plans for the future. Nice run though.
Avant opened May 2021, Cap1 October 20, Cap1 December 20, Cap1 June 21, both Credit1 cards opened June 21, and Greendot April 20. It's worth noting that I maxed every single one of these out in September and starting paying them down in February. Exceptional history on all of them. I have a 90 days late on both of my vehicles, and a repossession on one of them (COVID, called and let them know our jobs were literally SHUT DOWN for three months and they still hit us with lates and one repossessed!). The goal is first time home owner and getting in with Chase. No other baddies: they've all either aged off recently (moved from Alaska to Florida and got COs from cable bill and FNbankofalaska CC) or PFDed. The only things left I listed and no luck having them removed. I'm scared to death to call Mariner to ask about the CO because it hasn't updated since 2019
My EQ and TU Fico8 scores are 666, the EXP is 663.
My mortgage scores however are
EXP: 639
EQ: 597
TU: 553

Things are a bit clearer now. The goal is homeownership. Something to work towards now. All past debts will have to be settled or better yet PIF for future home loans. The 90 day lates will hurt the full 7 yrs. Its going to come down to getting Mariner taken care of. The repo I suppose. And as you know. Get the util %'s down on all cards. Gonna take some time. But you can get there. Whats in the past will be just that. Then you can move forward as scores come up to qualify for a home.
All of my cards except for one, one of the CreditOne cards, have been paid off. Credit one is at $103, well below 28.9%. I'll continue trying to GW the lates and repo from 2020, so I guess the only question left is won't talking to Mariner about the charge off likely cause them to start updating the account that hasn't reported since the end of 2019 again and hurt even more? I appreciate your advise
I talked to Mariner Finance and they agreed to delete the chargeoff after showing proof of paid in full to the CA! Will I see any impact on my scores after it's gone seeing as the account hasn't been updated since the end of 2019?
Congrats on that. If your talking about full deletion of a CO. Yes it will be a big jump. Hoping they keep their word.
When I negotiated a deletion of a 30-day late, it took a month after I negotiated it for it to happen.
