Rebuilding after Chapter 13

Well... after 5 VERY LONG years, I finally got my Chapter 13 discharge!!  That was one of the most difficult things I've gone through considering the budget discipline you need to have in order to successfully get through the plan.

I've been on these forums for years just reading and learning as much as possible, but I thought 2020 would be a good year to start contributing after getting through this rough phase in my life.  I managed to get some subprime cards (CreditOne - $950 limit, Ollo Card - $4,200 limit) in the last year of the BK in order to starting rebuilding my credit again and a month after discharge I was lucky enough to get approved for a PenFed Cash Rewards Visa with a $5,000 limit.

Now that I have some cards to work with, I am going to just relax in my garden and let these new accounts age.  I have plenty of old BK related baddies on my report that should drop off by Oct 2021, so no new accounts in that timeframe should really give my scores a nice lift once everything drops off.  Unfortunately, some of those dropping off may also hurt me considering they are some of my older accounts, so my AAoA might drop.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2020 and all of your goals are met!
