Is it too late for me to take care of the balance to prevent this from being placed on my credit reports? I can pay it in full. Just don't want any setbacks with my credit.
What did you receive, a notice that they have filed an action, or an actual notice that trial has concluded, and they were awarded a judgment?
If an acutal judgment has been awarded, were you ever served notice of the date of trial, or asked to respond to their action?
It simply said a judgement had been filed. I'm so scared it will pop up on my reports.
Does anybody know when it might show up on my report? Does it have to be rewarded first? I'm paying it tomorrow but don't want even a paid judgement to show up on my reports.
Thank you!
They file a suit and if the judge finds in their favor a judgment is awarded.
Did the paper say anything about a court date? If not, I would contact the courthouse and see if there is any pending cases against you. If there is be sure to show up.
No court date at all was stated. I'll be calling first thing in the morning. Thank you!
If in fact a judgment has been entered against you and you were never properly served or knew about a court date, you can probably get the judgment vacated. You would need to see what documentation the clerk has.
Maybe more info will help. The letter said a judgement was filed because court fees from my divorce haven't been paid in full. No court date, just a judgement filed. It listed the amount owed but didn't ask for payment or anything.
The letter is from the court. It said a judgement has been filed and why. Will it report to the credit bureaus? No request for payment or anything was on there.
