I have been, in the last few days trying to find information regarding SOLs in Alabama and Louisiana and I cant seem to find any. I have read the sticky at the top and have looked up the state resources and have been through the titles and sections and codes but just can not find the information I need.
Esentially what I am looking for is how SOL tolls, and if it does at all in Al and LA.
What I have found so far is that a SOL can toll if the debtor moves out of the State/Country, or the Debtor 'goes missing' or does not respond, act on a debt for a period of time - 2 years for instance. Exact laws regarding SOL vary from state to state and I can't find that information with respect to AL or LA.
All I could find was the following
1) SOL period (3 for revolving and 6 for written - both states)
2) CA bonding and Licensing requirements (Unfortunately none in AL!)
3) Interest of 6% can be charged depending upon the agreement between the OC and the debtor. (I wish I had the original agreement! Or that the OC/CA don't)
Could somebody direct/provide me some resources I can look up apropos tolling of SOL in AL and LA?
