Anyone had success removing a hard inquiry? If so how do you go about doing that?

It depends on the actual circumstances. I initially had 43 inquiries of which some were not made by me. Well I called in and just pointed out everything to the rep and they deleted it all leaving only 1 from BOA since I already had an account with them. Well the rep told me afterwards to send in a police report which I did. This was Experian though. Transunion had 17 and somehow 12 mysteriously got deleted and I never initiated it. Equifax had 17. Currently in total I got 1 INQ on Experian, 1 on TU and 2 on EQ. Hope it helps...
The only way to remove an inquiry is if its in association with ID Fraud/Theft. Disputing legit inquiries is never recommended and can result in unintended consequences for you if the accounts were issued and opened.
Exactly thats why I told the OP it depends on the circumstances. In my own case the inquiries were not made by me and the rep deleted everything. Out of the 43 only 3 were mine which I indicated but they took everything off including 2 that were mine leaving only 1 which was from BOA. As for TU I got a CK alert that 12 were removed, I had no idea how that happened and this was way before EX happened.

Hmm, if this is the case, when do inquires fall off? Is it 7 years as well?
