Response to my PFD from AFNI INC!!???

I've been hammering AFNI INC for about 2 months now with PFD offers. The debt is past SOL and due to come off my reports in June 09. I've been using the fact that it will be falling off soon to try and leverage them into a PFD. At first they didn't respond and then when they finally did respond, it was a letter basically outlining what I owe them and where to send payment to.

I wasn't satisfied so I sent another PFD and this was the response I received yesterday,

Dear Josh,

We have received your email dated August 7, 2008. We have reviewed your account. I have asked our operations team to close this account and to process manual credit deletions to all credit reporting agencies to which it may have been reported. You will be receiving a letter releasing you from responsibility for this debt via U.S. Mail, which may take up to 2 weeks.

This communication is from a debt collector.

Does this mean that they have accepted my offer......or are they just going to delete the entry early.....and why would they do that (Not that I'm complaining but it is AFNI INC that I'm dealing with and they're not known for being nice!!) the entry is due to stay on there for almost another year!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Wow! To me it sounds like they are just going to delete? What kind of letter did you send them? Can you post a copy of it because I have a collection on DDs report that I am going to have to deal with them on.

It honestly sounds like they are just going to DELETE....the letter didn't say anything about you paying them any money?????

Jwillvin,

I would be most interested in seeing this example letter. I've been in a 2 month battle with Afni myself any type of differant approach sounds good to me.

Congrats,

it seems like AFNI might be going soft. I was able to succesfully GW a paid account from AFNI off my reports by simply just emailing them.

Hold onto that letter. If you don't see these deletions in about 45-60 days, I'd send a copy of the letter off to the CRAs to move things along.

Congrats! Gives me hope for the letter I'm sending off today!
