I have worked SO hard to build my credit score to an optimal place over the past two years. Today I received a My Fico alert that my score dropped 63 points. This was due to being 30 days past due with my Discover payment, which I thought was on automatic withdraw. Discover says there is nothing they can do. Does anyone have steps I could or should take to try about rebound from this as quickly as possible? I am sick to my stomach over this.
I would keep being persistent with calling and sending letters. It just takes getting in contact with the right person. I did this with another lender that sent a 30 day late to my credit report. I keep bugging them till eventually one of the customer service reps escalated it and got it removed. Not all banks will do this however. Discover is not as tough as some of the others so you might have a chance.
Seen this so many times. I have nothing but utilities on auto pay. I got the same thing yrs ago when it came out. Its 2 fold. Dont trust it and you should have checked it went thru. Plus Disco sends emails and texts if you have them set up for certain alerts. Check them all if you continue to use auto pay. They're not one who lets things go without letting you know you were late before the 30 day hit.
