Should I PFD?

I just recieved a couple of settlements letters from CA's. both for different accounts with DOFD in 2006. The thing is neither one of these are reported on any of my CR's. Should I just pay the settlements and forget about it? Or should I send them PFD to ensure that they arent reported on my CR in the future?

Thanks!

Re: Should I PFD?

Are the debts legit?

Have you ever heard from them before?

You should proabably first send them a DV request under FDCPA 809(a) to validate the debt.

Re: Should I PFD?

I had one recently like this.  I called them because it was a legit debt and I knew the OC was on my CR.  I asked them why they were not on my CR, they said they did not report, but the OC was on my CR and they were assigned.  I paid it because it was a CO that is factoring into my util so I wanted it gone and it was a good deal.

Re: Should I PFD?

They are both legit debts. But neither the OC or the CA is on my CR.

Re: Should I PFD?

Is out of SOL?  if it is and they are not reporting it, I would let it go and ignore them.
