Should I accept Credit Union Secured Card?

Hi all, rebuilding and wondering with my stats if it’s worth accepting a 300$ secured card offer from Mid Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union at 125% down, or if I should just skip it & wait for my PIF collections and new cards to start reporting?

History, mom stole my SSN, about 5 baddies across all 3 Cb’s were actually mine out of 18 TOTAL! She’d been doing it since I was 17, I’m 28 now. Had bills in states I’ve never lived in lol. All her crap was disputed and removed. Brought my score up from 450s to 600s in the last year and this is what remains:

FICO (not fako)

EX: 670, one collections for a community college I attended but no amount listed & acceptance now charge off for $1600, both fall off in 2021.
4, 30 day late car payments reported in 2015.

TU: 630 - 2 collections, one medical bill for $125 and one for $135 to Progressive Auto (falls off in sept but paid anyway) both PIF for delete last month and should update later this month, same late car payments as above show.

EQ, 606 - the $125 medical bill, late car payments from 2015, and acceptance now charge off showing. Medical bill will delete this month.

Current open accounts, all paid on time and reporting

NAV dept of EDU, 20K
Wells Fargo Dealer Services opened in 2019, 19K
Cap 1 secured 49/200 2% reporting, PIF weekly
USAA Classic VISA 500SL, 5% reporting, PIF weekly
Credit One Visa, 400SL, PIF weekly 1% reporting (expecting a CLI soon and then SD this one.)

AAOA is 5 years 5 mos.
20 inquiries, 10 fall off in 6 months. (Most auto) o

So anyway, sorry for the length, take offer or just wait for something else down the line. Is 3 cards reporting enough or still too thin?

At this point I doubt you need another secured card.  Check the Cap1 prequal site. I’m pretty sure you will be approved for Quicksilver One. Also check Discover. You should start to get offers soon from decent cards.

Since you already have the necessary three revolving and one installment accounts to optimize FICO, I would hold off on that secured card. Let those accounts age and your score should begin to rise.

Down the line you can check with Discover's prequal page and work towards closing that Predator One card.

You may have only 3 cards, but you have five accounts. Thats fine.

Like the others have said. You good to go for now. One thing. Stay away from the QS1 if you get an itch. Better off with the Plat that can upgrade to the regular QS. I call the QS1 the brick. Too hard to do anything with it. Once the Plat is upgraded to QS. No AF. QS1 $39 a yr. Same 1.5% CB. Good Luck on your journey.
