I have had a capital one platinum credit card since oct 23 2014 with a starting limit of 300$ and barely got a credit increase this year July 17 to 1250$. I'm barely also figuring out how credit works this year as well not knowing I could have been getting credit increases every 3-6 months. Regardless, I recently also got a Quicksilver 1 credit card this year sept 6 with a SL of 300$, & got a credit increase of 100$ 3 months in. Now, my credit score is at 636 TU & 640 EQ & i just got approved from AX Blue Everyday w a SL 500$ but they are not offering the bonus & 0% starting apr. I am trying to increase my credit so I can In the future get a discover card. That is my goal to get above 700+ credit score. Also I do have a 300$ hospital bill on collections that has been there for 2 years I am aware that it is negatively affecting my credit score as well. Should I take care of this asap? Any information would be appreciated thanks.
You can get Quicksilver rewards added to your Platinum card - effectively making it a Quicksilver card with no annual fee. Then later (after they grow some more) you can combine the QS1 card into it, and eliminate that annual fee as well.
