Should I wait or pull the credit card trigger?

Hello All!

It has been awhile since I've posted but happy to report that my credit has improved dramatically since finding this community.  You can see my TransUnion and Equifax scores in my signature, and I just got my Experian report everything the same as the other reports except there is a "Public Record" dated 2008 That is NOT mine that I can't seem to get removed.

I have tried and tried and Experian keeps verifying or just ignoring me.

Any suggestions as what to do about the Public Record?  Also should I wait on getting any major credit cards until I get rid of that Public Record?

I don't have any major credit cards just a Walmart Credit Card and would like to get at least one.  Oldest account on all reports is about 17 years old (Student Loans) and average age of accounts is about 5 years old.  The only accounts that have balances are three my student loans and my Walmart Credit Card.

Experian has 1 inquiry in 14 months

Equifax has 2 inquiries in the last 12 months

TransUnion has 2 inquiry in the last 12 months

Thanks for any advice!

Have you sent them a MOV letter regarding the judgment?

Do you have anything from the court house stating it is not yours?  If not I would suggest getting something from them.  For me EX has been good about removing a judgment with court documents.

Re: Should I wait or pull the credit card trigger?

It is a judgement.  I do believe that it is my sisters we lived together and have the same last name.  I still have no idea what to do.

Re: Should I wait or pull the credit card trigger?

They basically said they have investigated the information and the information was verified by the credit grantor.

Re: Should I wait or pull the credit card trigger?

You need to get the court to furnish you with copy of judgement to see if it is your first name on judgement if so and it is wrong Or call the clerks office for the court   Go to court and claim improper service( not being served with notice of the court date.  Then if granted you must be properly served by the creditor if they serve you with new court date show up and prove the debt is not yours.
