I applied for Discover yesterday and was denied. I got an alert just now and my score rose from 621 to 636 and all that is sited is the new inquiry that was added. Any ideas?
Anyone?

Most likely it coincided with monthly aging of AAoA.
I've never gotten a 15pt boost for AAoA before so that never crossed my mind.
Any INQ's fall off?
Not sure. I think one or two may have been set to fall. I'll have to check.

I'm under the same belief as Shogun that things happened at the same time .....crossed paths
I'm looking at a TU report I rulled today and it shows 9 INQ's but some of them had multiple pulls. Like SYNCB(no clue who this is) shows 10/2013, 03/2014 and 05/2014. Does that count as 3?
I still have 5 that were un authorized from a dealer that I can't get removed. They have a year left.
Only 2 set o fall off later this year. Again this is only TU.

Yup, i have seen this previously it usually happens when one has 0 inquiries on report and apps for some new credit, the first inquiry can boost score and I assume it happens by way of the new credit category.
