There is so much information out there when it comes to disputes and what is the appropriate letter to write.
I hate posting about things I can research on my own, but I've tried and I can't figure out the correct approach. I don't want to waste time by sending the wrong type of dispute letter, but I also don't want to waste more time by not doing anything at all.
What letter should I write for a discrepancy about delinquency dates? Another problem is I'm an authorized user on a charged-off account, and I can't reach anyone to remove myself. Then I have two different agencies reporting the same debt. There's an educational debt for classes that went into collections, but the campus shut down due to COVID. Should I talk to the school or the CA?
I disputed online, and we all know how that went. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate the help.

What are you trying to dispute? Charge offs/Lates? And which nbank are you trying to remove yourself from?

You should be able to dispute AU accounts directly with all 3 bureaus. Use "Account not mine" as the reason. If it's not removed immediately, you'll likely receive a response from the account owner soon after.
As far as incorrect information, a debt validation letter should work to initiate disputes or challenges of debts. You should know what the statute of limitations are for your State first and the actual DOFD for the original debt prior to any correspondence with any creditors you are disputing/challenging.

A debt validation letter only works if sent within 30 days of dunning notice. Sending one at any other time is almost pointless since CAs aren't required to respond.
ive found the best results for me and my clients usuing either factual disputing or metro 2 compliance
factual disputing - errors that you can factually proove i.e. late paymen showing when you have record of making payment on time etc.
these letters dont need a template you just explain in your own words what the incorrect information is and provide the facts to back it up
metro 2 compliance - a speicfic type of dispute letter that formats into e-oscar (what credit bureuas feed dispute letters thru. This one you have to research on your own .
best of luck !
