Today I spoke with a representative with Sprint to pay off a $598 collection that was showing on CR. I forked out the cash and I just got off the phone with Diversified Consultants Inc., and they said the collection was recalled and I should see it fall off my account soon. I hope this helps someone else!
As a note I called Sprint Financial Services their number is 800-567-9719
UPDATE: As of 3-14-2015 the collection has not shown back up and all is well. To clear up some confusion this is a small overview of what I did.

Hello I just called to do the same and the rep told me they couldnt recall a debt once its sent out to a collection agency, what exactly did you say to the rep? congrats by the way.
I just asked if I paid it in full if it would be removed from my credit report. I did however send a DV to the CA last week so that could be a factor.

by the way did you pay and then dv?
DV first then called today to pay its possible the CA couldn't verify and sent the account back to Sprint, I read somewhere you could ask Sprint to do the same but it seems chance.

Ok thanks, I did Dv the CA this year but all they did was remove the debt then put it back sent me a settlement letter instead of Dv, I dont know if its because they had it so long ago 2 years. But I just sent an email to the executive asking for a pay for delete.....this baddie will be the one to stay on my credit the longest the others fall off next year.
Could be when they remove it Sprint receives the account only to assign it back to the CA. I would DV again with the CA and communicate with Sprint, Sprint seems to be very helpful if you speak to the right perso . Did you try the number above? Tell them you want to pay it off.
