Hey guys,
I posted a while back about Sprint and Source Receivables Management here http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/Sprint-Collections-SOURCE-RECEIVABLES-MANAGEM...
Basically Sprint verbally agreed that if I pad them directly they would recall the collection and it would be removed from my credit report. Well I paid and waited a month AND.....The collection updated the collection as PAID which caused my score to drop since it changed the status date. I contacted Sprint and again they verbally agreed that it would be removed but when I contacted the collection agency they are saying that is not true.
SOOOO I decided to get on Sprint chat and speak with an account specialist who reviewed my account and confirmed it was paid in full AND he even said and I qoute "Yes, once it get paid off . Our next level billing team report your account status and it will be removed from credit report"
I have proof in the form of a chat transcript that was emailed to me and so I am wondering should I dispute the account with the CRA? And if so would the chat transcript be enough to prove what Sprint had promised? Or should I send this to the collection agency?
NOTE: I paid Sprint directly NOT the collection agency
Thank you for the help
If its not gone after 60 days then I would send the transcription to the CA and if that doesnt get it done a BBB complaint on Sprint for shoddy business practice. Alternative is to send Sprint an ITS letter for breech of contract.

Hey Gdale thank you for the response. I decided to try again to confirm and I keep being told verbally and by chat that it would be deleted but I think they are saying that to get me off the phone. I decided to go ahead and try a dispute and submit the proof. Transunion and Experian are still looking into it but Equifax came back saying the debt was verified within 24 hours....can they really verify it that quick? Do you know if there is contact to the EO for Sprint I mean I want some type of written confirmation if not I want to show the EO that their employees are giving incorrect information.
Same issue here regarding Sprint. I submitted my paid in full invoice directly to Sprint and used that as verifcation. TU deleted the account, EX denied my request and EQ is still pending. I spoke to Sprint shortly afterwards who assured me they did everything on their part as of June 6. I was assured the debt was taken back from the C/O status and that it should have been removed my credit report. They were unwilling to submit any further verfication except for that paid invoice. My next attempt is to call the CA directly and ask them to remove it.

Yes they can verfify that quick and their keeping the TL is telling you it wasnt recalled, wait for the other 2 CRAs to complete their investigation before deciding on next move. I dont have any contacts for Sprint, what I would do is Google for the HQ address and phone numbers. If its in written form they have no leg to stand on there at Sprint.

Thank you again. I am going to do some reasearch but I do have an update. I recieved 2 alerts and when I checked it shows that both Transunion and Experian have removed the item. It could be because it is in dispute so I am not going to get excited just yet but I am still mad why Equifax just said verified after 24 hours since I never disputed if it was mine...I disputed that I shouldn't have had it in the first place and I provided them the same proof I provided the others. I hate Equifax -__- . I am going to wait the 30 days and if it is confirmed that it has been removed from Transunion and Experian then I will fille a complaint with CFPB
*UPDATE*
So I just updated my Equifax report and saw that my score had gone up. After reviewing my report I noticed that the collection was removed so as of today Experian, Transunion, and Equifax have removed this collection. Either Equifax had a change of heart or the collection company told them to remove it. Either way this is great news
Congrats! I am about to ask for a recal with them as well.
Anyone else have luck with Sprint directly? I am about to pay them over the phone, they are telling me that they PFD. But i want to make sure it actually works.
Answering late, but yes, it works. I had a Diversified collection for Sprint removed 6/2015. Sprint was not reporting as the OC on my CR--only the CA was reporting. The debt had not been officially "sold" to this CA; the OC had simply engaged the CA's services to see if they could collect on the debt. Sprint agreed to directly accept PIF from me, and agreed (as was logical after I PIF) to recall my file from the collection agency. Sprint wouldn't give me anything in writing to confirm this, but they did follow through as promised for me.
