Dear All:
I had two collections on my report from T-mobile and Sprint Pcs. I paid the T-mobile and was promised to have the collection taken off, which happened. Now, the only one left is this sprint collection. The collection company name is not listed on my report. All it said is:
Collection on debt to: Sprint Pcs
The collection agency "178yc12307" was hired to collect a debt of $438 originally owed to "Sprint Pcs" on account number "XXX7449".
Does anyone know, how i can find out who this is?
Also, my score has improved from 11/24 to December 27. My equifax score was 478 when i started rebuilding my credit, now it's 587!!!!
Many Thanks
If you get a report directly from the CRA, it will show this information.
It is masked because the CA reporting is likely a CA that is known to report medical debts as well, so the CRA masks their name on 3rd party reports.
If you haven't already, I would get your free annual reports, as these reports come directly from the CRA and provide much more information than reports you'll get elsewhere, like on myFICO or TrueCredit.
If you have your Experian report number from when you pulled your reports before, you can go to their website and towards the bottom in the middle it will say "review report again", click that and enter your report number and other information and you'll see a current copy.
Otherwise go to TransUnion's online dispute and go through the steps to get a report to use for disputing. You don't actually have to complete a dispute, but can view your report.
If you've been denied credit in the last 60 days, are unemployed, and under some other circumstances you can get a free report from the CRA. If it is for denial of credit, you get a report from the CRA the creditor used.
