Good morning all!
Quick question! Have anyone dealt with sprint/ convergent outsourcing in the past? If so how did you proceed?
I canceled account with sprint on june 14, didnt payoff devices immediately and now since 7/28 i have convergent outsourcing on my reporting not willing to discuss removal at all. Will paying sprint remove collection?
It should remove the collection , esp if convergent has the account... Things have been slightly changing since the whole TMO/Sprint merger thing....
If Sprint is willing to take payment, they will recall the debt from Convergent, Convergent has to remove the account since they no longer have rights to collect, and sprint has no reason to re-add the debt since they are paid off....(sprint re-adding the collection is the unsure part)
Not gonna say 100% but this is how it worked with T-Mo.... Really think they have likely moved/moving to T-mo collection policies

I called Sprint to try set up payment but whenever i ask to pay and if account will be recalled they give me Convergent phone number to call.
I also called convergent and they only collecting on sprint behalf.
Not sure what to tell you.. Looks like your out of luck because convergent will likely not take it off your report as a goodwill or a part of an agreement... usually its only when they are required to...
Going to have to wait for someone to chime in with a more current collection... Ill ask around ..
Wonder what happens if you try to go in through Tmo vs Sprint and try to pay off the collection....do they just redirect you out ...
Could try calling Tmo with no initial mention of a sprint collection.. if they dont redirect you to convergent.... then offer to pay the sprint bill..
Hmm. not sure quite what to do right now

I just went through this, except the CA for mine was ERC. Here is what I did:
- went to Sprint chat online to pay my old bill (don't call, do it on the website) https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/chat.html
- Choose "account change/inquiry" yellow button underneath for chat. (Sales might work too, you just want someone who can take your payment)
- Tell them you want to pay in full directly for your old bill. I haven't heard of them turning anyone away on chat????
- You can ask them if you pay in full right now, will they delete the Convergent collection. They might say yes or no. If they say yes, you have something to fall back on. If they say no, you can still try further. Try to get them to say yes though if possible.
- Make the payment with them through chat. IF they said yes, it would be deleted, confirm with them again after paying. SAVE THE CHAT! You can enter your email address to have a copy of the chat transcript emailed to you.
- Wait a few days, it most likely won't be deleted even if they said it would. Some people have been lucky and it was deleted right away, though.
- If it's not deleted, send an email to the executive offices from this public website: https://www.elliott.org/company-contacts/ just look for Sprint.
- Send an email to the executive office letting you know you paid in full directly asking to have it deleted. **FORWARD TO THEM A COPY OF YOUR CHAT TRANSCRIPT IF THE CSR SAID IT WOULD BE DELETED!** If a lady or someone else calls you and says they can't delete, be very nice, but let her know you know it is possible because you know of other people that just had it done. She will most likely say she will check with another department and get back to you.
- Send one more email to executive office asking nicely again to have it deleted.
- Hopefully you will have the same luck as me and they respond finally saying yes, it will be deleted.
**If the CSR in chat who takes your payment says no to deleting, I would still recommend sending emails to the executive office asking for deletion and including proof of payment or payment confirmation #.
This is what I just went through. It took a few people and tries but they are finally deleting. Even if someone you speak to says no, try someone else or on another day. I wouldn't bother paying or contacting Convergence at all, they will probably be no help. Work with Sprint directly if they still own the debt.

Good luck OP!
So yeah. I called sprint again and lady that I barely understood anything said that if i pay in full my account will go out from collections. I asked couple of times and recorded on my wifes phone, she said as long i pay sprint directly account is no longer considered collection. I paid them today, now waiting to see what will happen.
