Still making progress...

Hey guys!

Not giving up when you are SO close is one of the hardest things to do, because, well, those last ones have been proving the most difficult! Keep at it!

I stopped sending letters and working hard at the rebuilding in Feb when I applied for the mortgage, then after I closed, I waited a couple weeks and went back at it.

I had 23 negs when I started, I had 6 left total when I started the second wave in June. As of this week, 3 of those have been removed via GW or direct dispute. Say goodbye to Armor Systems, Hunter Warfield, and Illinois Collection Services!

I have three negative accounts left, a paid Illinois State tax lien, a paid judgment, and Fair Collections and Outsourcing.

Next courses of action:

Contact the lien department of Illinois by phone, they have not responded to my letters.

Go to DuPage county and inquire about vacating the judgment. In Illinois, apparently you can have a judgment vacated after it is satisified.

GW letters to FCO, although they have been unforgiving to this point.

Any other suggestions on those three pesky accounts, or any internal FCO contacts, would be much appreiciated!

Hi, Scott! Good job hanging in there. I've got two peskies left, Sallie Mae and the 2005 CH 7. Those I'm stuck with but it sounds like you have a plan for a clean file!

A plan for a clean file is one thing. Having one will be another -- haha

We shall see, FCO and the Tax Lien will probably be my elephants. I just paid the tax lien in March so I have 7 years of reporting to go haha

The judgment I am pretty sure will go away, but since the tax lien is showing as reported in 2006, at least its showing as oldish... ugh

Thanks for the encouragement!

Re: Still making progress...

I'm assuming it's a state tax lien then?

Yeah -- stupid Illinois. They are such a broke state in general, but they give no favors, that's for sure haha
