I recently had wisdom teeth removed, and charged the max amount on my CareCredit, the rest elsewhere. Forgot I had opted into the credit protection program, so they next day they added 8$ and some change putting me over limit. Can I expect this overlimit to stay on my record, and hinder me from obtaining CLIs or anything in the future?
The report finally updated today on EX at a zero balance, but it definitely hurt the score for a solid month. Went up 33 points when it updated, just waiting on a few other cards I used to pay some bills last month to update as well. At 8% UTI aggregate on EX now, but it should drop down a bit lower.

SYNC will no doubt remember this....whether it was of your own doing or due to a charge they imposed. However, this would not be a mitigating factor as it relates to your score...it's more of an internal note they'll have so if you ask for CLI's in the future, they "may" recall or fault you for that. Keep your account in good standing and you'll be fine
I did that a few months ago on my Amazon card... and a tiny interest charge put me over my CL by $3... reported on my credit as such. Paid it off the next month and saw the "number of accounts over CL - 0" message.
Haven't seen any other ill effects from it... scores or otherwise.
I didn't end up seeing anything negative, since I paid it in full prior to it reporting again. Only the boost from UTI dropping and not having a card over CL anymore. I hope they don't internally ding me too much, I'm coming up on 6 months with them, and would like a decent little CLI since I use the card for all the dental work needed lately.
Thanks for the info!
