Hey everyone, longtime lurker here who's been slowly building my credit back up. I recently was able to get Capital One to say they would remove a 30 day late from my report after emailing their CEO. To my dismay, I received a letter this evening stating that an old TD bank overdraft had gone into collections and is being handled by Radius. The balance is $846.44. I am trying to figure out what I can do. The collections still hasn't been reported on my credit report and is dated to 1/21/21 on the letter they sent. Since it is within the 30 day dispute period what should I do? The debt is valid albeit it was after I reported a transaction fraudulent and they decided against me which overdrafted my account. I'm just trying to get some pointers here as I am fairly new to credit rebuilding. Thank you in advance.
When did the account go into default? When was your last payment made on the account?
You would want to talk to the agency and ask to pay them for not reporting to the credit bureaus. Also try and get it in writing, or ask to record the conversation, or ask if they can email you that. But you really want to hurry and get it handled before they do report it. If you say it is valid a debt validation was be pointless and a waste of time. Also offer what you can pay and see if they agree or counter the offer.
I would have to look into it further, probably sometime in December 2019 or early 2020 like first Jan-April.
Did you get Radius paid? What type of settlement did they accept? Was it negotiable or a take it or leave it offer? I'm having to deal with them for a Kohls card and possibly Toyota
