Hello,
I have a cc with Total Visa. I fell behind on my bigger parents in March because of Covid 19. I called them and got on their "hardship" program. I was under the impression that they would not charge me interest or fees during this time as explained by the rep. Boy was I wrong.. 🤦🏾♀️
So made small payments of 25 bucks. This was less than the minimum, which was at first 45. I called and let them know, an was assured by an "it's fine as long as payment is made, it's the system." Fast forward to now. I was about to make my payment, and checked my credit report, only to find it has been dinging me late since March. How do I fix this? Tried to call, already tried the Goodwill approach. Should I just let it hit collection, then get them to do a pay for delete? Any advice?
I would keep calling them. You don't want it to go to collections because then you'll have 2 negative items on your report for 1 account. PFD will only apply to the CA, if, they do PFD. It will leave the original charge off in place.

You need to continue with lender. Speak with a supervisor, search for EO contact. You don't want in collections. For the reasons @Brian_Earl_Spilner stated above.

Pay for delete only deletes the CA and not the OC with the late payments. So if you went that route you would have even more lates that will hurt you that will stick. Not to mention that CAs are not required to do PFD, so that is a huge gamble to find out if they do.
You need to reach out to them directly about this. Did you get the agreement for the payment arangements in writing? Are you able to catch up now? I do not think you need to GW them, I think that if they had a COVID hardship program you participated in that they were not to mark you late on your CRs. I would first be certain you were in an actual hardship program. Did you speak to different CSRs the two different times? Do you have their names? I would work my way up the management ladder until you get this straightened out.
good luck!
Ok.
I will try this route. I have enough for half my full balance. I will try and call the mgr this week. I will update and see how this works.
