Well, credit means everything folks. Had to go through a few applications just to get approved for a new house to rent, even with a spotless rental record, cause of the 4 CO's and the 5 collections, that happened after a bad wreck in 2018. It gets expensive at between $50 to $75 pop, money that could have been spent better elsewhere, like paying down a CC or a CO. Thankfully the last was understanding when I explained to them the cause and am showing I have 2.5 years of good stuff with no late payments and that I am working on the other stuff as I can.
Congrats on finally getting place before the holidays. Shame rental payment history doesnt mean much. Kinda like auto insurance. Take 2 people. Both have clean records for years. Lower scores higher rates.

Jpin a Credit union ..PenFed/ Navy will give very good odds for mortgage ok
I already belong to two credit unions. One being Navy. So I am as good to go as I can there, just need to be patient and get the mortgage score up to where they will be happy will me and using my VA mortgage loan as were I am at 100% VA disability I save on a lot of the stuff I otherwise would not have.
