i currently owe 4,796 on the card that is in collections what would be a fair settlement offer?
Have they sent you any offers yet? Is it Charged Off? Is it showing up in your online account still? if its not showing anylonger and is charged off... id say wait for a letter with an offer... $1000-1500 should settle that.
Effective in 2019, USAA is only taking settlements no lower than 55% (45% balance forgiven).
Hello,
I too have an a charged off personal loan with USAA that is currently in collections with Alltran Financials. My total outstanding balance is $10,425. I recently got an offer to settle for 50%. Would you mind telling if you already settled with USAA and if so how much were you able to settle for. Thanks.
Before you start making offers, I suggest you look at the whole picture.
1: How far away is your State Statute of Limitations? The closer it is, the less the debt is worth.
2: Do they know where you work? Do you even have a job? If you do, can they garnish your pay in your State? The more "no" answers here, the less the debt is worth.
3: What is the date of First Delinquency on this debt? The closer it is to 7 years the more likely it will fall offyour creit reports soon, so it would be a waste of breath asking for a PFD. Just remember, whenever YOU ask for something from them, the value of the debt goes up. "Oh, you want a PFD? That will be $1,000 more."
4: What assets do you own that you might lose in a bankruptcy? The lower the number the less the debt is worth.

How do you know that?
I am looking at a settlement offer of 1000 on a 5000 balance sent a month ago....
Had two agencies advise me of that. Is your USAA a credit card or a different item? Is yours past the SOL? I don't think they sell their debt so that can't be it. What agency is yours with?
